This is outstanding ... I look at it and see the history of the stadium and St. Louis all wrapped into my childhood. I grew up 90 miles east of St. Louis on a farm in Southern Illinois. I will never forget the weekend my father took our family (Mother, Brother and of course, me) to see the Cardinals play a double header. Stan Musial hit a Grand Slam that day. That weekend was my first time to stay in a hotel. Daddy was a sharecropper working 6 days per week sunup to sundown for $5.00 per DAY. It could not have been easy to spend the limited amount of money for such an event, but we all loved the experience. When my mother was a little girl, she lived in St. Louis a few years. Her father took her to her grandmother's when the St. Louis riots happened to protect her from the riots. There is more, but too much to write about here. I so appreciate this piece of art.
