Description
Philip, an evangelist, encounters an Ethiopian eunuch on the road and preaches the gospel to him. A classical scene unfolds with several figures engaging animatedly around a horse-drawn carriage. In the foreground, a man on foot appears to guide a pair of horses, while two men in the carriage are in deep conversation; a serene landscape with trees and water completes the backdrop. The images are inspired by public domain black and white engravings by Julius Schnorr von Carolsfeld (published in 1860).
