The Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in caves on the West Bank between 1946 and 1957. They contain some of the oldest surviving copies of scripture. This fragment of Deuteronomy contains the Ten Commandments and the description of their revelation on Mount Sinai. The original of this scroll is about 6.5 cm or 2.56 inches wide.
